Projects will have to be able to provide service at symmetrical speeds of 100 megabits per second, at least, to be eligible, and must be aimed at areas that currently have access to less than 100 Mbps downstream/20 Mbps upstream. Funding awards will include 100% Loan, 50/50% Loan/Grant and 100% Grant.
USDA is committed to municipalities, localities, nonprofits, tribal governments, and others to be recipients allowing local control in rural areas that will empower these communities to chart their broadband future.
